Who We Are

First Assembly Church is a group of people with a history of following Christ in the St. Charles county for almost 90 years.  Made up of people in all different walks and stages of life, we seek to follow our mission.

Our Mission: "To reach people who are far from God, and help them become Christ followers

We accomplish this by helping people:

  • Know God

  • Find Freedom

  • Discover their purpose

  • Make a Difference

A great next step would be to attend First Assembly Growth Track. Growth track is designed to help you connect with that purpose. Growth Track meets every Sunday morning at 9am in the chapel. We encourage you to get connected today and find your purpose!

WHAT WE BELIEVE

First Assembly Church is a part of the General Council Assembles of God Fellowship and therefore abide by the doctrines for which they believe.

    • THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is inspired by God. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives. (2 Timothy 3:15—17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21).
    • GOD
We believe there is one true God who eternally exists as three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity). (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
    • JESUS
He is the eternal Son of God. He is fully God. He experienced a virgin birth. He led a sinless life. He performed miracles. He died on the cross for our sins. He is the only way to Heaven. He came back from the dead. He sits next to God as our lawyer, friend, and Lord. He is coming back to take His church to heaven.
    • SIN
We believe that every person is a sinner by nature and choice, and that sin has separated people from God and His purposes for their lives. (Romans 5:12—19).
    • SALVATION
We believe every person can have a restored relationship with God by repenting of sin, believing in Jesus, and submitting to His will for their life. Salvation is a gift from God and cannot be earned through our own efforts. (Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9)
    • BAPTISM & COMMUNION
We believe and practice two ordinances established by Jesus: (1) Water Baptism by immersion following salvation; (2) Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper) as a joyful remembrance of Jesus’ suffering and death for our salvation. (Matthew 28:19; Luke 22:19-20)
    • THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit is a special experience following salvation that empowers believers for sharing the good news about salvation and serving Jesus.
    • THE EVIDENCE OF THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT
You will have a noticeable vitality for God! (John 7:37—39) You will have a deepened reverence for God! (Acts 2:48) You will have an intensified commitment to God! (Acts 2:42) You will have a more active love for Jesus, His Word, and the lost! (Mark 16:20) You will experience an unknown language! (Acts 2:4)
    • GROWTH IN HOLINESS
We believe that a person’s growth in holiness (sanctification) is initiated by the Holy Spirit at salvation. It is a progressive, lifelong work of God and man that makes us more and more free from sin and more like Jesus. (Romans 12:1-2)
    • THE CHURCH
We believe ‘the Church’ is the Body of Christ and consists of people who, throughout time, have accepted God’s offer of salvation through Jesus and are engaged in God’s mission to see people’s lives transformed by God’s power. (Matthew 28:19-20)
    • THE MINISTRY
We believe God has given us the four-fold ministry of worshiping Him, strengthening the Church, sharing the Gospel, and meeting the needs of people through love and compassion. (Ephesians 4:11-14)
    • HEALING
We believe that God heals. Divine healing of the sick is provided for through Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross for our sins. (Isaiah 53:4-5)
    • THE BLESSED HOPE
We believe Jesus is coming back as He promised, and all believers who have died and those who are still living will meet the Lord and be with Him forever. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
    • THE MILLENNIAL REIGN OF CHRIST
We believe Jesus will return with the believers at His second coming and will rule over the earth for one thousand years. (Revelation 20:1-6)
    • THE FINAL JUDGMENT
We believe a final judgment will take place for all who have rejected Jesus. They will be judged for their sin and condemned to eternal punishment in hell. (Revelation 20:11-15)
    • THE NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH
We believe and look forward to the recreated heavens and earth where all people who have been saved throughout time will live forever with God. (Revelation 21:1)
